Last week Fit Radio DJ, DJ Scuffs took the Fit Radio stage at Night Nation Run in Toronto – The World’s first-ever Running Music Festival.
We had a chance to catch up with DJ Scuffs after the event and here is what he had to say:
Q: What was the Night Nation Run event like?
A: It was a super dope event. So much energy from start to finish. Essentially, it’s a big music festival with a 5K race course going through it. There are multiple sounds and DJs playing all day and through the night with some DJs actually positioned on the course to help keep you pumped and moving all the way to the main stage.
Q: Fill in the blank: DJing at Night Nation Run Toronto was _______.
A: An amazing experience, a cool concept, and one of the best events I’ve ever played at and been a part of.
Q: When you create a Fit Radio mix, what do you always make sure to do?
A: I always make sure it’s a perfect combination of style, fun, energy, and it keeps you wanting more.

This week, we had a chance to sit down with DJ Euphoria and ask him a couple questions. Here is what he had to say:
1. How would you best describe yourself in three words?
Honest , Friendly, and Ambitious.
2. What is the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to you?
It was picture day in middle school and my mom decided she was going to start cutting my hair herself. Let’s just say, I came out looking like I went to a blind barber. She still made me go to school wearing a hat, but little did she know hats weren’t allowed at school. (Like I told her!) I got called so many names that day and ended up getting my head shaved completely bald. We didn’t purchase the pictures that year. 😉
3. Who is or was your celebrity crush?
4. If you could read minds, whose would you want to read?
DJ AM – his music selection and live mashups were unreal. A true legend.
5. What is the most important thing to you when you make a mix for Fit Radio?
I always put myself in the user’s shoes. I make sure that a listener would love to listen to the mix over and over and look forward to more.

Getting to know Fit Radio DJ, Fuseamania! We had a chance to sit down with one of our favorite Running DJs and here is what he had to say:
1.What do you think makes your running mixes so great?
They are made with love. 🙂
2. What is your favorite thing about the last running mix you sent us?
The diversity of the music in the mix!
3. How do you choose the songs you use in your running mix?
I usually try to chose the songs that target around the tempo of the mix I’m making.
4. What is the coolest mashup/remix you’ve used a running mix? What makes it stand out?
I really like the Discotech (1.0) version of “Everlong” by the Foo Fighters. (One of my favorite bands.)
5. What is the difference between your Fit Radio running mix and a playlist heard on other music apps?
The mixing is flawless and keeps you moving to a steady backbeat.
6. Talk about the formula behind your running mix and what goes into creating it.
I really keep the runner / workout in mind when making a mix. I want to make sure they get everything they can out of it.

Well if I had to sum up this week’s MixLab in one phrase it would have to be, “anybody want some weiners and balls?” You can thank DJ Mami Chula for that one! She had purchased a barbecue platter of sorts for the DJs which consisted of mini sausages and meatballs 🙂 ANYway, back to the MixLab recap! We had a new group of DJs and they were super excited to work together and make a brand spankin’ new collabo’ mix for the users as well as partake in jäger bombs and provisions alike. Did I mention we were streaming the whole thing live? I’ll have a link to that video for you guys on Monday so be sure to check back!
The USTREAM live feed went so well we decided that it’s more than likely going to be a staple for the FIT Radio MixLab so if you missed out this week, have no fear because it will be back 🙂
Check out the mixes from this week’s DJs and don’t forget to favorite the ones you love!

So last Wednesday we had an idea come to life. We wanted to find a way to get a few of the FIT Radio DJs together in our office to hang out, play music, and work together to create awesome mixes for our users. It’s a little something we’re calling FIT Radio MixLab. We had some turn tables set up
so the DJs could switch off and do a live collaboration mix which was awesome because it’s definitely interesting to see what they come up with on the spot and watch the genres blend together. While all of this is going on, they were recording a separate mix on their own! Talk about killing two birds with one stone. Mami Chula was at the helm of the get together making sure everyone was having a great time yet staying on track (apparently, DJs tend to have short attention spans.) There may or may not have been a little liquid courage to get the gears moving (I’ll never tell!)
oops, or maybe I will…
Well that’s it for now! Check back next week for a new batch of DJs and a new batch of mixes! Until then, here are the mixes from the first ever FIT Radio MixLab! Enjoy!
