It’s NICE outside! Get off your computer and take your pup out to play! He or she will LOVE you for it. Plus, you’ll feel much better after getting some fresh air and exercise. Don’t have a dog? Then check out some more cute pictures of puppies playing!

So, I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but FIT Radio has been getting quite a bit of support/mentions from a bunch of bloggers out in cyber space. Here are the latest FIT Radio mentions and we couldn’t be happier, because it’s not everyday you get love from a fitness model AND a major workout equipment manufacturer!

As summer has unexpectedly approached Atlanta (yes, I said summer; It is almost 90 degrees outside!), there has been a lot of talk about Fad Diets in the grocery stores, nightclubs, streets of Atlanta, and even inside the FIT Radio office. I, for one, have never been a fan of fads, especially when it comes to my eating habits. However, for some reason, they are always such a hot topic of conversation. I’ve been planning on taking my friend Desiree’s Dance/Group Exercise class this week, and while I was looking for the link I found her blog. She has some amazing tips on there, and the one post that really caught my eye was called Fad About You. It’s all about the different types of Fad Diets and her educated opinion on all of them. I would suggest checking it out before buying into one of these “Fads” in an effort to quickly slim down for the sudden (very welcomed) heat flash.
We want to hear your thoughts! What do you do to get your sexy summer body?
I don’t know about everyone else, but I love the way 80’s fashion has been revived, especially in the Nike Women’s clothing department on their website. Not only have they continued using motivational phrases such as “Pretty fast…isn’t good enough” and “Fuel This” on their t’s, but the bright colors that came with the 80’s are back as well and who doesn’t love bright and exciting colors? I will say this, I never thought I’d dig splatter paint but Nike is doing a “pretty good” job of making it look current and hip.
My friend Meghan and I were invited to fill in on a kickball team yesterday. I was somewhat reluctant since I haven’t played kickball since elementary school, but I figured what the hell, it’ll be fun to run around outside for a bit. When we got there, we realized everyone was a bit more serious about kickball than we expected. It was a little intimidating, but we decided to step up to the challenge. We practiced kicking the ball a little before the game (which actually made us even more nervous as it revealed to be more involved than we remembered). Once the game started, we were both determined not to let the team down, so we did our best. We actually had a lot of fun doing it and got a great workout chasing the ball around! We both ended up getting on base and playing well on the field. All in all, it was a lot of fun (and I have the bruises to prove it). Joining an adult league is a great outlet for exercise and meeting new people. I think I may join one this summer. After the game, we all went to Mellow Mushroom as I proceeded to tell everyone about FIT Radio and get them to download the app. 🙂

Tell me about your experiences with adult leagues! Have you joined any? What would you recommend?
Hi Fit fans! I’ve got another roundup of great djs and mixes to call your attention to this week.
For you Indie Dance fans, we have a two-part mix collection called “Congratulations” by Nacho Vega. GREAT energy throughout both mixes. This is a recent personal favorite of mine. Check it out!
In the Top40 station we have a newcomer by the name of DJ M.E. This dj has been submitting awesome mixes to us on a weekly basis since he started and every one has been fantastic! If you dig working out to intense mixes of the biggest radio and club hits then DJ M.E. is your man!
While we’re on the subject of club mixes, yours truly (RiMbY) just finished up a mix called “Shave The Roof” which features the heavier side of club and billboard remixes as well as some Electro House cuts. Use this mix when you really need that extra jolt of inspiration!
Hip Hop heads…we haven’t forgotten about you! FIT Radio resident Dizzy K is back with a vengeance with his “Vol.4 (2012)” and “Vol.5 (2012)” mixes. When you really need to grind out those final reps in the weight room give these mixes a spin!
FIT Radio is ampin’ up the rock content. Now, not only will you have Rock to choose from, but you will have Hard Rock, Alternative Rock, and Indie Rock as well. FIT Radio knows what Rock n’ Roll can do for your workouts, so we will be giving you all the best hits from today and yesterday to keep you going. Top DJs like DJ Greg J, Commander, and DJ T Rex are cooking up the hottest mixes to get you through your toughest workouts. So what’s the difference between these stations you ask? We know EVERYONE has different definitions when it comes to music, so here is how we’ve laid it out. When you are listening to the “Rock” Station you can expect a broad and diverse collection of all kinds of rock music. “Indie Rock” holds mixes of underground and independent bands like Yeasayer and Arcade Fire. “Hard Rock” is on the heavy side, with lots of loud and aggressive guitars and vocals. Bands like Korn and Pantera will be found here. We’ve set up the “Alternative Rock” station to contain bands such as Bush, Weezer and Foster The People. New mixes will be posted regularly to each station so stay tuned and keep on rockin’ in the free world!
Have you ever been to a three-day electronic music extravaganza on a beach? Well I haven’t, but after this weekend the dream will come to fruition. I’ve been planning a trip to Miami for the world famous Ultra Music Festival.
When Fit Radio caught word of my venture they asked me to report, first hand, ALL the dirty details straight from the beach. I’ll be talking to DJs, blogging, and tweeting all weekend. So, stay tuned because we’re about to serve up the ultimate guide to Ultra Music Festival and follow me on twitter @TresFit.
Look like fun? Uh, we think so!! That’s why FIT Radio will be DJ’ing the Color Run events in Atlanta next week (March 31st at Piedmont Park and April 7th at Atlanta Motor Speed Way). Psyched doesn’t even begin to explain our attitude. There is nothing more fun than getting really dirty in bright colored paint… And getting your workout done while you’re doing it. Come join our Promo Girls and DJs at these events! The Piedmont Park event is sold out, but Atlanta Motor Speed Way is still on sale: Register Now! If you have a crazy training session that day and don’t feel like running, you should still come out and join the action! It will be a day to remember. See More: The Color Run
Hey everyone! Let’s talk about using FIT Radio for purposes other than working out. There are the obvious ones like listening to music while you clean, plugging it into your car stereo while you drive, or listening to it at your desk with headphones while working. If your boss says anything, you can throw back something that one of my bosses told me years ago, listening to techno/house music while working keeps you focused and working faster. I don’t know the source, but I’ve tried it and I know it’s true.
One of my new favorite uses for FIT Radio is playing games. Most games have some sort of soundtrack that, in my opinion, is repetitive, horrible, and get’s turned off immediately. When was the last time you left the music on in Angry Birds? Try breaking down buildings to some Heavy DubStep or make a record breaking Temple Run to some EDM. You reach that point where the music matches the game and you enter that zen state where you can do no wrong. It’ll change your gaming world!
Next time you have a couple of free minutes, Give it a Try! Let us Know on Facebook, Twitter, or in the Comments what games you like to play with FIT Radio providing the soundtrack.
