The moment you all have been waiting for has arrived. With so many requests from our users to add a Trance genre to the FIT Radio app, we had to oblige. If you aren’t familiar and are not really sure what Trance music is, the definition above says it all. It’s music to get you moving and keep you moving. With a tempo between 125 and 150 beats per minute how could you not? Pair that kind of energy with a mesmerizing show of lights and you’ve got yourself a trance show. Trance isn’t just about the beats and the music, the atmosphere adds so much to the genre that when when people hear the word Trance, they not only envision the famous artists that come to mind like Tiesto and Armin Van Buuren, but the crowd, the lights and the movement that surrounds you when you go to a Trance like show. So, naturally we wanted to integrate that kind of life and fun party mentality into the FIT Radio app! So bring Trance to your next house party or gym session and you won’t be disappointed.
Recently while using Stumbleupon.com I stumbled upon (no pun intended) a website called Punchfork.com. Punchfork is a website that consists of recipes that are put up by certain food sites such as; Bon Appetit, 101 Cookbooks, etc… It takes it one step further and features the most highly talked about recipes through social networking. You can search certain dishes, ingredients, publishers or bloggers. Punchfork also allows you to filter certain dishes by selecting vegan, vegetarian, all diets, or gluten free. This site is so full of fascinating and unique recipes! Some of the tastiest recipes I’ve found include: Mac and Cheese Cupcakes, Nutella Caramel Hazelnut Brownies, and Grilled Bruschetta Chicken!

The FIT Radio team has been working hard to launch our newest HTML5 website and mobile website (app) that should promise to be faster and more reliable. No one is ready for it more than we are, as we have been working on it for almost a year now! Once released, Windows Phones, Blackberry Users, and anyone with an internet connection will be able to use FIT Radio! Our current app has been having issues handling all the content (as we now have a HUGE library of music) and the high traffic we have been receiving from all our loyal users. 🙂 Alas, we are in our final stages of testing and the wait will soon be over!
We found this fun and easy DIY project from one of our favorite sites, cnet.com. Not only is it cheap and easy but it’s perfect for the gym and any time you want to pair music with a workout (which should be all the time! 😉 Click the pic for the deets! I have a friend named Meghan who has been talking about bringing “fanny packs back” for years now. “No way!” I said. “It’s never gonna happen,” I promised. Then, Boom. I stumble upon a website that sells something called Jammy Packs, which has taken the old school Fanny Pack and somehow made it cool again. They are called Jammy Packs and they come in all sorts of bright, trendy colors and cool designs and… the best part… they’ve added loud speakers to them! Voila! They’re “in”. Who knew it would ever be cool to sport that Fanny Pack you’ve been begging your mom to stop wearing for years now (along with those high wasted, bunchy mom jeans – Let’s just hope those never make a come back!). The Jammy Pack Phenomenon is a pretty new thing and hasn’t really made it past the California line yet (oh, those trendsetting Californians). Be the first in your city to bring this trend back! I know our FIT Radio promo girls are all over the idea! What could be better than a bag that can hold all of your belongings and play FIT Radio!? Nothing, that’s what.
So this past Saturday, Lexi and I had the privilege of promoting with the team organizing and coordinating The Great Urban Race, which is, if you don’t already know, a crazy fun scavenger hunt throughout Atlanta, or Chicago, or whichever city they are visiting that weekend. Think The Amazing Race television show but on a somewhat smaller scale 😉 Anyway, the race wasn’t without a clue sheet, themed teams with fun costumes and, what else, great music provided by yours truly! It was an awesome experience not only because of the stirring atmosphere surrounding all the runners but the people at Red Frog Events were so incredibly helpful and kind. Cynthia, Catherine, Tyler, and the rest of the team were a pleasure to work with and we can’t wait to do more with Red Frog Events! Anytime we ever speak with anyone at their company, they are always happy and full of excitement and energy. You can tell they all must love what they do! What’s up FIT Radio fans! We’ve got some great new mixes to tell you about!
First up is an outstanding Electronic/Indie Dance mix by new FIT DJ Funk Manchu. It’s titled “Live @ Backbooth” and features melodic, energetic tracks and expert mixing for the entirety of the mix. This is a standout piece of work…don’t miss it!
For you rock fans, we’ve got a ton of new stuff to fuel your workouts with. Bynar’s “Regret It All” will expose you to wonderful indie and alternative rock that you probably won’t hear on the radio. Trust me though…it’s as good or better than anything on standard radio rotation.
FIT Radio’s own DJ Commander comes strong with two classic rock mixes titled “Communication Breakdown” and “Walk This Way.” These mixes are made of pure rock classics. You will know and love all the selections!
Finally the FIT Radio legend Dizzy K is back at it with “Vol. 5 (2012)”. Don’t let the generic name fool you…this mix is hard hitting club Hip Hop through and through! I throw this mix on during my hardest workouts of the week!

So, if you’ve ever been to a Commercial House show then you know this video doesn’t do the light display justice but those who haven’t will be able to get a general idea of the awesomeness this kind of performance can ensue. The lights are a huge part of any DJ set and Tiesto kicked it up a notch and this past Saturday was a treat to say the least. I had to wear ear plugs because the treble was so high, and the music was still blasting with them in! Just the sight of the crowd was a sight to see, if you didn’t make it to the show or don’t live in the Atlanta area, I highly suggest you check out Tiesto’s schedule and other big House djs because it is an experience you don’t want to miss.
Elle Macpherson, as you all know, has been able to maintain her svelt body image since her peak modeling days. But how? you ask, well we did a little research and found an informative article from Glamour Magazine that tells you how the famous super model stays in shape, and it’s quite easy too!
This is the kind of fitness lifestyle I could definitely adapt to! So easy; just be active for an hour a day to maintain a super hot bod. Done and done. Now all I have to do is actually obtain a super model body 🙂
