Fit Radio Success Story – Meet Adam A.

By Maire,

Meet Adam A. Adam is a fitness industry veteran of over 5 years – graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from USF and currently working as a primary trainer for an outdoor group fitness training program in Orlando, FL. We asked Adam what he loves most about Fit Radio and this is what he had to say:

FB_IMG_1466690984992
“I am so happy for this unique and amazing radio service! I have to say, my clients love Fit Radio as well. I no longer have to mix my own music — I just find the right station for my designated workouts and let the flow begin! I’m currently running Summer camps, which has me crazy busy. I use FitRadio at every camp session and my campers love it!”

Pump Up The Jam – Positive Effects of Music on Exercise

By Maire,

The secret to scoring your best body ever is hiding in something you already carry around all day: your phone. “Workout music can increase endurance by at least 15 percent,” says Jacque Crockford, Exercise Physiologist/Education Specialist at ACE. With the Fit Radio app, you can enjoy hundreds of mixes from a variety of genres and stations curated specifically for you by professional DJs. Our motto has always been the same: Why spend time making playlists yourself when you can spend time sweating? Here are the top five reasons a killer curated workout playlist can change your workout forever:

1. Workout Music Helps You Keep Your Pace

For maximum benefit, your desired speed/heart rate should match up with each song’s beats per minute, or BPM. According to the Journal of Sports Medicine and Physical Fitness. “Synchronized music tends to drive exercise intensity.” Using your Fit Radio app, you have the ability to choose your workout music based on your desired BPM, or even your type of workout, and Fit Radio will deliver fresh new mixes that match your desired heart rate. Plus, through the new Running tab, Fit Radio will automatically detect your pace when you start running. From there, Fit Radio will take care of the rest and deliver the perfect running playlist that matches each footfall of your stride.

2. Workout Music Increases Your Endurance

Remember those times you spent hours on the dance floor or jamming out all night at your favorite concert? You didn’t even notice because you got lost in the music! Music is proven to increase endurance because it serves as a (positive) distraction. When you turn on your Fit Radio app, our professionally engineered mixes are designed to not only keep you moving and motivated through your entire workout, but also having fun and getting lost in the beats. Your best workout always happens when it doesn’t seem like a workout.

3. Workout Music Keeps You Focused

Everyone has that go-to song that always pumps them up no matter what. Believe it or not, there’s science as to why that happens. When you can associate songs with certain memories or tap into the emotions of the lyrics, it boosts the motivational power of a song. Each mix that is added to Fit Radio has been specially created by our professional Fit Radio DJs keeping the listeners in mind — thinking about what will help keep them motivated, excited, and wanting more.

4. Music Can Elevate Your Mood

To music lovers, this comes as no surprise, but scientists have recently found that people can boost their mood by simply listening to upbeat music. Not to mention, recent studies have also found that randomness in music increases dopamine levels in your brain. Not only does the Fit Radio app house hundred of mixes from the genres and artists that you love, they’re engineered re-mixes designed to give you non-stop music while also surprising you at every turn so you never know what’s next. (Talk about a win-win!)

5. Music Makes You Move

Researchers found that when music possesses “high-groove” qualities, the brain gets excited and induces movement in the listener. With your Fit Radio app, turn on any mix and it has the ability to make you move — no matter how much you’re dreading your workout.

Fit Radio DJ Spotlight: DJ Euphoria

By Maire,

This week, we had a chance to sit down with DJ Euphoria and ask him a couple questions. Here is what he had to say:

1. How would you best describe yourself in three words?

Honest , Friendly, and Ambitious.

2. What is the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to you?

It was picture day in middle school and my mom decided she was going to start cutting my hair herself. Let’s just say, I came out looking like I went to a blind barber. She still made me go to school wearing a hat, but little did she know hats weren’t allowed at school. (Like I told her!) I got called so many names that day and ended up getting my head shaved completely bald. We didn’t purchase the pictures that year. 😉

3. Who is or was your celebrity crush?

Shailene Woodley

4. If you could read minds, whose would you want to read?

DJ AM – his music selection and live mashups were unreal. A true legend.

5. What is the most important thing to you when you make a mix for Fit Radio?

I always put myself in the user’s shoes. I make sure that a listener would love to listen to the mix over and over and look forward to more.

New Music on FIT Radio: Fuel Your Workout

By superadmin,

By Chris Rimby

Hi FIT Radio fans!  Our content is growing faster than ever and that means one thing for you:  more great music to help you meet your fitness goals!

For our Hip Hop fans, we have great new selections from two of our newest DJs.  “How You Love That” by DJ Spinatik and “Finals” by Nacho Vega.  Both mixes work great in the weight room!

In our Electronic Dance Music genre, we have another new addition:  DJ Beatbreaker.
His mix “Take Care” has motivation in spades.

The Lounge genre debuts DJ Pony and his mix “Two Years Later”.  This is perfect for your warm-up or cool-down!

In Indie Rock, DJ Bynar offers his mix “Fireworks” for the underground and independent rock fans out there.

Also, be sure to check out our NEW Rock and Indie Rock Stations. We’ve been working very hard to add content to these genres (and will continue to do so over the next few weeks). It has not been an easy task, to say the least!

Thanks and have a great week of workouts!

What's in Your Workout Playlist?

By superadmin,

The Rimby Report

Chris Rimby, Music Director

Welcome!  For my weekly blog, I will be calling attention to some of the best new mixes on FIT Radio.

In the Top40 Genre, check out DJ Christyle’s “Marry The Night”.  It features superb song selection and combines Pop remixes with the best new commercial vocal House hits.  Look forward to tracks from Katy Perry, Nervo, LMFAO, Usher and Avicii.

In the Electronic Genre, give DJ Vice’s “Earthquakey People” a spin.  It opens with the Dillon Francis moombahton remix of Steve Aoko’s “Earthquakey People” and moves its way to the Progressive House banger “Alive (Tommy Trash Remix)” by Dirty South & Thomas Gold.  This mix is a recent personal favorite of mine!

In the Hip Hop Genre, I’m feeling DJ Rapko’s “I’ma Boss”.  It opens up with the Yelawolf track “Hard White Remix”, moves on to Big Sean’s “Dance”, makes an old school nod to Too Short and closes with the club hit “Good Good Night” by Roscoe Dash.  This mix works great in the weight room!

FIT RADIO TIP: You can find mixes on demand by searching for a specific DJ under the DJ tab. Every mix they’ve produced will be listed under their name and is available on demand.

Found a Bug? Let's Squash It!

By superadmin,

We are fixing bugs as soon as they come up, but if for some reason you come across something, please let us know. Just follow the SIMPLE steps below.

Dirk, Director of Technology and Development

My name is Dirk and I’m going to help you help us make FIT Radio as close to bug free as possible. With any new app, there are going to be bugs. Last I checked, FIT Radio is available to over 746 Android devices. Wow, that’s a lot. Now, we test on a lot of devices, but it’s impossible to test on every single one. The first step you should take is to make sure you have the latest version of FIT Radio. We put out updates every few weeks.

If you’re having trouble while the app is running, there’s a very quick and easy way to submit a bug. Recreate the problem, Hit Menu, then Submit Bug. Simple as that. The app does all the work of collecting the log, phone model and setting up the email. All you have to do is describe the problem… in detail. 🙂

If the bug occurs during loading time or you cannot access this for any reason you can pull your own log…  More
