We had a chance to catch up with Fit Radio DJ, Jason Jani to ask him a few questions about his all-time favorite DJ moments, where he draws inspiration, and his process for creating the perfect Fit Radio mix. (We also learned some fascinating things about him along the way…) Here’s what he had to say.
Aaaand we are back with more FIT Radio music news!! So, last week we posted about about the ZUMBA Station, and this week we’re all about informing you fine people about the WIRED: Sport Specific Station. This station was inspired by an article our Music Director came across in WIRED Magazine that discussed “Sport Specific” music and how listening to the correct BPM (beats per minute) can enhance your workout. For example, listen to an upbeat Top 40 hit during a spin class; WIRED suggests something along the lines of Rihanna’s “We Found Love” which boasts 129 BPM. For a longer, less concentrated intensity workout like distance running, your ears might find something a little less Top 40, more appealing, such as an Indie Dance mix featuring artists like Daft Punk and Foster The People. In a nut shell, this article reiterates what we already knew deep down in our guts: “listening to upbeat music when you workout not only causes you to push harder, it also distracts you from knowing you’re doing so.” Lucky for you, we’ve done all the work and have designed mixes of multiple genres and BPMs for your workout listening pleasure. Don’t be scared to use us outside of the gym too, we like it 😉
