Achieving your fitness goals may not have anything to do with how many reps you’re cranking out or your mileage on the treadmill. Your workout plan and habits outside of the gym are just as important. These bad habits can ruin your workout and affect your health in the long run.
So pull out your blender! We’ve got seven different smoothie recipes to chase down any and every workout, from yoga to HIIT.
FIT Radio was hired to MC and DJ the Warrior Dash Georgia Event this past weekend. For those of you who don’t know what the Warrior Dash is, I would highly suggest checking it out here! In short, it’s a 15-45 minute race (depending how fast you are) through obstacles that involve walls, tires, mud, electricity, ropes, water, and even fire!
My favorite part is that the race was pup-friendly! There were dogs just CHILLIN everywhere!
A Word of Advice: Pay attention to what you wear underneath your clothing! That mud is like an x-ray machine (girls, this is not the day to wear your granny panties – I would suggest boy shorts and would definitely recommend a slightly padded sports bra)! There were some grown men wearing tiny speedos (no judgement here – rock on!), but if you aren’t the type of person who wants to show everything, plan ahead!
At the end of the race, there is food, beer, loud music, and an awards ceremony featuring the best costume and best times. A lot of people dress up for the race, which is always fun!! My favorite costume was a lady in a white wedding dress – which was completely covered in mud by the end of the race!
Everyone seemed to be a HUGE fan of group dances (like The Wobble and Cupid Shuffle), and it was very interesting to watch everyone dance together, all covered in mud, with warrior hats on! 🙂
The Warrior Dash is held in over 50 locations all over the World; Georgia was only the 5th event or so this year, so check out their website to find a location near you!
Recently while using Stumbleupon.com I stumbled upon (no pun intended) a website called Punchfork.com. Punchfork is a website that consists of recipes that are put up by certain food sites such as; Bon Appetit, 101 Cookbooks, etc… It takes it one step further and features the most highly talked about recipes through social networking. You can search certain dishes, ingredients, publishers or bloggers. Punchfork also allows you to filter certain dishes by selecting vegan, vegetarian, all diets, or gluten free. This site is so full of fascinating and unique recipes! Some of the tastiest recipes I’ve found include: Mac and Cheese Cupcakes, Nutella Caramel Hazelnut Brownies, and Grilled Bruschetta Chicken!
Punchfork also allows you to create your own profile where you can sign in and save your favorite dishes. Comment and let us know what you think of Punchfork!! I know what I’ll be eating tonight, what will all of you be eating?
