So, if you’ve ever been to a Commercial House show then you know this video doesn’t do the light display justice but those who haven’t will be able to get a general idea of the awesomeness this kind of performance can ensue. The lights are a huge part of any DJ set and Tiesto kicked it up a notch and this past Saturday was a treat to say the least. I had to wear ear plugs because the treble was so high, and the music was still blasting with them in! Just the sight of the crowd was a sight to see, if you didn’t make it to the show or don’t live in the Atlanta area, I highly suggest you check out Tiesto’s schedule and other big House djs because it is an experience you don’t want to miss.
Elle Macpherson, as you all know, has been able to maintain her svelt body image since her peak modeling days. But how? you ask, well we did a little research and found an informative article from Glamour Magazine that tells you how the famous super model stays in shape, and it’s quite easy too!
This is the kind of fitness lifestyle I could definitely adapt to! So easy; just be active for an hour a day to maintain a super hot bod. Done and done. Now all I have to do is actually obtain a super model body 🙂
Since it started getting warm, I find myself fantasizing about riding to work in stiletto heels on a baby blue scooter, scooting around the city without worrying where I am going to park, and completely forgetting about how much gas is going to cost today. I have always loved driving, but since moving to the city, it has become more of a pain in the a$* than an escape or adventure! The streets of Atlanta are very narrow and full of potholes. The drivers don’t know how to stay in their own lanes and are always venturing over into the one next to them for awhile. Oh, and I don’t even need to mention Atlanta Traffic! So, to say the least, I am frustrated, and I envision the scooter being the answer to all of my problems. Plus, it’s gotta be better for your health! A lot more physical activity goes into driving a scooter than a car. Right? And, as a girl, I can not overlook the upside of the possibility of getting a tan while driving to work!
What do you think? I would love to hear anyone’s opinions on owning and driving a scooter in the city. I don’t even know the traffic laws for a scooter. Is it legal to drive through the middle of cars while they are stopped? I always see people doing it, but is it actually legal? What about parking? Is it legal (and more importantly SAFE) to leave your scooter on the sidewalk somewhere? These are the questions that are running through my mind. Someone, please help! 🙂
This post is dedicated to all the games we know and love to participate in on game day, such as wiffle ball, beer pong, corn hole, washer toss, ladder toss, frisbee, catch, flip cup, frisbee golf with a hula hoop and standard frisbee, lawn darts if you’re near some grass…
So we all love those guilty comfort foods, right? How about the idea of those favorite foods still being tasty without all of the calories? Impossible you may say, but not so much!
DashingDish.com is a website developed by a young lady named Katie Farrell who has taken guilt-ridden comfort foods and made them into tasty goodness without all the remorseful calories.
Her dishes range from Skinny Red Velvet Cupcakes to Mini Mexican Pizzas (yum!). On Dashing Dish not only do all of the recipes include the caloric amount, Katie also makes it simple for anyone participating in Weight Watchers by including the “points” each dish is worth as well! On top of including caloric values, Katie also shares her simple tips to jazz up an ordinary workout to make it more fun, intense and worthwhile.
Dashing Dish is based upon an idea that living a healthy and spiritual lifestyle doesn’t have to be rigid and boring, but motivational and fun. Reading a little bit of Katie’s story you learn that she was inspired to create Dashing Dish because as a teenager and young adult, Katie faced challenges with her diet, exercise, and health habits in general but over came them by finding spiritual inspiration and realizing she (and everyone) can still eat yummy foods just in a healthier way. (Hallelujah!)
Now, Katie’s recipes have been featured on one of our personal favorite sites (and it’s also how we discovered her) Fitsugar.com and by the looks of her blog she is happy, healthy, and loving life! Everyone go check out DashingDish.com and download a recipe, try it, and let us know what you think! There is something for everyone, even *Gluten Free recipes! Enjoy!

Getting to know your favorite FIT Radio DJs…
FIT Radio flew DJ HOHME down to Atlanta back in July to spin at one of the Top 3 Nightclubs in the Country, Opera Nightclub. We had such a good time and enjoyed his set so much we just had to bring him back! He’ll be back in “The A” this weekend and we couldn’t be more pumped! HOHME has great energy behind the decks, and he really knows how to make sure everyone on the dance floor is having a good time. Read our interview we did with him; it’s sure to get you all pumped and excited to jam out to HOHME whether it be on the web or your app, or if you’re in town, at Opera Nightclub!
Back in July I received the opportunity to chat with HOHME and ask him a few questions. Here is what he had to say…
Where is your favorite place to spin? Anywhere people go specifically to let go and dance. I’d say my recent favorites have to be my sets at Burning Man back in early September, a private beach party in Rincon, Puerto Rico in October as well as my set at Opera Nightclub in Atlanta back in July.
Where do you live now? I’m currently based in NYC, specifically the East Village.
How did you come up with the idea for your iPad DJ MixBoard App? I was looking for a way to make my DJ efforts as mobile as possible, and having to bring/rely on turntables/cdjs at every event was not something I wanted to do…so I took all the main features I use the turntable for and designed them into the interface of the app. Now I can control basically everything I ever did with a turntable wirelessly on my iPad.
What was the hardest part about launching the iPad app? The hard part was designing it in a way that included everything i needed (gain, effects, loops, cues, pitch control). Other than that, considering it’s based on open-source framework off an existing app, I didn’t really have to worry about launching it at all (which is why I ended up giving it out for free download).
Where is your favorite place in the world? Oh man, that’s hard to answer… If I had to give just one, I’d say Katmandu, Nepal. I spent a little over a month backpacking through Nepal and India back in 2008. Describing the first time I saw the himalayas in person as breathtaking wouldn’t do it justice whatsoever. It was straight up moving. Not to mention, nepal is probably the furthest I’ve been from western culture, which was refreshing.
Where does your fashion inspiration come from? I’ve always liked fashion, but never considered myself fashionable really. I’d say my inspiration comes from close friends; a lot of my friends have serious style and mine, I’d say, is just a runoff from what I liked that they were wearing here and there. Currently I love basic, non-branded clothing with minimal but tactful details.
What is the craziest thing you have ever done? …depends what your definition of crazy is. Most recently, I’d say Burning Man takes the ticket. There’s no way to fully describe what it’s like on the playa, but it was the best/craziest week of my life… just an insane time.
What is your favorite thing about being a DJ? I get to play the music I love for a living.
What is your favorite track at this moment in time? I’m working on a bootleg of Morgan Page’s “Fight For You” right now with a producer partner of mine named Odmark, out of DC. It’s sounding awesome!
What type of equipment do you use? Macbook running Serato, Rane TTM 57sl mixer, and iPad…producing on Logic Pro
How would you describe yourself in 3 words? Happy, blessed, positive
What is something no one knows about you? I was a double major in business & dance in college. I’ve danced my whole life.
What do you do when you aren’t spinning? Listen to a TON of new music, sleep.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Touring internationally, owning a record label, playing stadium crowds/festivals.
What are your thoughts on FIT Radio? It’s the best, most user-friendly way to stream mixes on the app store. Hands down.
Are you a fan of DJ HOHME? Be sure to follow him!
Exercise is not the golden key in seeking a cure for cancer; however, it is the foundation on which any fight against the disease must be staged.
People always describe the fight against cancer in very combative tones and
metaphors. You don’t just beat cancer, you “kick its ass,” you don’t just deal
with cancer, you “battle” it. Regular exercise is like Rocky getting up earlier than
everybody else to drink an all-protein breakfast and fit in an hour run so that he
can eventually go up against Apollo Creed. If you’re up for a fight with cancer,
then you’re in for the most important fight of your life, and you’d better be fit
enough to go the distance. More
